Sunday, November 25th, 2007On Saturday me and Trish were in John Lewis in Reading, As I spelt my name out for the chap at the till (I was picking up the item from the warehouse).
A voice from behind me said.
“excuse me – did you say RALSTON”
“Errr Yes”
“So am I – I have never met another Ralston down here, so I thought I should say Hi”
I turned round and we shook hands, said Hello, where are you from – that sort of thing (as you do to a complete stranger).
I thought I should tell him my first name.
“John”
He looked at me and slowly repeated
“John”
It took us a minute to realise were both actually called John…
We said goodbye (as I was by now holding up the queue, and getting some puzzled looks from other shoppers) and both went on our way.
It was a real Dave Gorman kind of moment, spooky or what.
There are some nice people in the world!
Tuesday, November 29th, 2005A while ago I posted a bit about another John Ralston and the fact that I tried to buy his cd from the e-commerce site but there seemed to be a slight problem. Well I got a reply from the administrator of the site, who when he saw my email address, offered to send me my namesakes cd for nothing!
In spite of having the roof blown off their warehouse by an errant Hurricane and obviously having loads of problems. the CD arrived from Florida today so many thanks to Nick for sending me the CD.
Then later today, the “other” John Ralstons MANAGER stumbled across my webpage and also offered to send me the cd as I had been unable to order it – Spooky or what.
So to Nick and Rob – Thanks!
I have yet to listen to the cd properly, but first impressions are good.
Will the real John Ralston please stand up

I tried to buy the CD (just to see what it was like) but unfortunately their e-commerce system crashed out. Maybe it thought I was taking the mickey when I entered my name

Just to check (Its not like I don’t trust the News of the World, but…) I did some searching and found some more info at Deseretnews.com Phew!
